Hi, I'm Deb
I'm an enthusiast technologist who's borderline obsessed with my profession. Yes, borderline. Some might say I've crossed that line. My work is my first priority. It's the thing that keeps me up at night (both good and bad reasons). I believe in building things that matter, solving problems that actually exist, and occasionally pretending to understand what stakeholders want.
When I'm not working (which is rarely), I dive headfirst into hobby projects with one singular, "hidden" agenda: to learn new things and stay perpetually occupied in the tech world (commitment issues? Maybe.).
Currently, I'm juggling:
Eyedeea Photos - A photo explorer app that brings your photo collection to life on Fire TV, tablets, and smartphones (Android/iOS). Because apparently, scrolling through photos on your phone isn't enough anymore.
An AI Agent (built with n8n and various AI models) for a nonprofit I'm involved with. Yes, I'm one of those people who uses buzzwords like "AI Agent" unironically.
I'm a photographer who actually uses their camera (shocking, I know). I'm currently in love with my Sony FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II G Master lens - yes, that's a mouthful, and yes, it cost more than my sanity is worth, but the glass is chef's kiss.
My workflow is refreshingly analog by today's standards:
Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop for post-processing (minimal, tasteful tweaks, no overcooked HDR here)
DJI Mini 4K for drone footage (because one form of photography wasn't enough)
DaVinci Resolve for video editing (it's free, powerful, and I pretend to understand color grading)
Occasional flirtations with various AI editors (paid and free), but nothing permanent except ElevenLabs for narration and background scores
Philosophy: I don't over-process. A little sorting, cropping, and color correction? Yes. Making your photo look like a painting? Absolutely not. Keep it real, or keep it realistic, at least.
For creative work, I'm a serial adopter:
ElevenLabs - My go-to for voiceovers and AI-generated audio (yes, even I'm using this for "authenticity")
Google Nano Banana, Grok, Microsoft Copilot - Extensively used for my nonprofit work (with Google Nano Banana being the MVP)
Copilot - For everything else, really
My Nonprofit Hat: I lead the IT, Media, and Branding team for utsob.org, where I've created logos, graphics, and digital assets. Armed with AI tools, Photoshop, and a dangerous amount of creative ambition, I produce everything from social media graphics to large printed standing banners. I'm basically a one-person creative agency with commitment issues and too much free time.
So... I Have A Lot Going On
I perpetually have too many items on my plate. Like, genuinely too many. It's a problem. But it keeps me entertained, so there's that. 😄
When I'm not buried in code or photography, my family and I are road warriors in our 35' camper (yes, that's a house on wheels). We've been living this lifestyle for the last 4 years, and it's... complicated.
We camp near lakes, mountains, and beaches because why stay in one place when you can own 7,000+ pounds of responsibility that breaks down in the middle of nowhere? Maintaining a camper is basically a second full-time job: research, enhancements, location planning, reservations, and the occasional existential crisis about water tanks.
But honestly? Best money we've ever spent (after therapy to cope with the stress, of course).
I'm a technologist, photographer, camper, AI enthusiast, and professional plate-overfiller who somehow keeps everything running despite being perpetually overwhelmed. If you've made it this far, you now know I'm either very dedicated to this website or very bad at editing. Possibly both.
Now, go check out my work or photos, and enjoy your stay in this corner of the internet.
